SNC is one of the few hospitals in Central India that offers specialist paediatric ophthalmic services.  Treatment for children for cataract, refractive errors, squint, glaucoma and occuloplasty is offered. The pediatric ophthalmology center houses a child-friendly OPD and IPD and special children’s play area. The center is equipped with the essential equipments recommended by WHO/IAPB to deliver quality pediatric eye care services.
The Centre runs a regional training institute which regularly trains human resource from hospitals and eye care centers in north and central India in pediatric eye care. Fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology is also offered.  Community eye care programs to reach out to school and non0-school going children and training to school teachers/ health workers is also carried on a regular basis.
