CT scans can be used to diagnose and monitor a variety of different health conditions, including brain tumours, certain bone conditions, and injuries to internal organs such as the kidneys, liver or spleen. They're also now being used to look at the heart. They're also often used to look inside the body before another procedure takes place, such as radiotherapy treatment or a biopsy (where a small sample of tissue is taken so that it can be examined under a microscope).

ECG

An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a test that checks the problems with the electrical activity of heart. The Indoor facility provides for Echo cardiography in the Echo Room to find the cause of unexplained chest pain, which could be caused by a heart attack, inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart (pericarditis), or angina.

X-ray

X-ray (radiograph) is a non-invasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging. At JKC fully digital X’RAY systems are used to control the exposure of each image in real time, which make images darker or lighter on demand and also enlarge images, make enhancements to color and superimpose textures. These features improves ability to detect disease and its current state. It also provide immediate visuals for compelling patient education. All this leads to faster diagnosis and greater treatment plan acceptance.

Integrated counseling & Testing Centre

JKC has the facility of ICTC (Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre) centre. HIV counselling and testing services were started in India in 1997, as two groups of centres – the Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centres (VCTC) and facilities providing Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS (PPTCT) services.

Under NACP-III, VCTCs and facilities providing Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS (PPTCT) services are remodelled as a hub or ‘Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre’ (ICTC) to provide services to all clients under one roof. An ICTC is a place where a person is counselled and tested for HIV, at his own free will or as advised by a medical service provider.

PCR Lab

PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests are a fast, highly accurate way to diagnose certain infecti diseases and genetic changes. The tests work by finding the DNA or RNA of a pathogen (disease-causing organism) or abnormal cells in a sample.

1 DNA is the genetic material that contains instructions and information for all living things.
2 RNA is another type of genetic material. It contains information that has been copied from DNA and is involved in making proteins.
Most viruses and other pathogens contain DNA or RNA..
